Tannersville All Service War Memorial

Tannersville All Service War Memorial

The Tannersville War Memorial was built in 1987 by American Legion members. After the WW I memorial erected up the street in 1921 was knocked down in 1992, the Navel Deck Gun & WW I plaque with the names of the WW I veterans who served from Swiftwater, Pennsylvania were moved to this location. In 2014 American Legion Post 903 took over the memorial after Post 425 closed up. Since then we have added 6 flag poles, one for American & five for each branch of Service. POW/MIA plaque, Vietnam plaque with names of those who died in Vietnam from Monroe County, Pennsylvania, and a WW I plaque for those who died in WW I from Monroe County are included. Six park benches, one for each Branch of Service & one for POW/MIA's are included. For 2018 we are working on the WW II plaque. We are currently in the process of repairing all the cracks & putting a stone walkway around the front of the memorial.
