Diane discovered a WWI veteran’s photographs with captions and as Illustrator and Author, published: The Great War, A Soldier’s View. As tears filled her eyes, had to catch her breath as she felt she began to know her grandfather. WWI veteran of William Frederick Weir served with the American Field Service, Special Services Unit 649, with the American Expeditionary Forces in the First Division. It relates specifically to a driver/mechanic’s experiences in the trenches, including Cantigny, Soissons, and Meuse Argonne.

Diane Sleger born in Chicago, Illinois, spent her memorable childhood in Pure Michigan, and currently resides in the Chicago area. Art is her passion, which she expresses creatively in her illustrations and as an Art Instructor.
