On May 17, 2023, the Goose Creek Post 166 honor guard received a Certificate of Appreciation from the South Carolina Department for Service above and beyond and advancing American Legion programs in the local area. The certificate was presented by NEC Joe Lysaght and Department Vice Commander Jack Lonergan.
