GI Bill exhibit arrives in Georgia
Legion members from the Department of Georgia 12th District host "The Greatest Legislation: An American Legion Salute to the GI Bill" at the Satilla Regional Library in Douglas, Ga., on Friday, February 15. Douglas was the hometown of Rep. John S. Gibson, who famously made a dangerous midnight trip through rural Georgia to a waiting plane in Jacksonville, Fla., that took him to Washington D.C. in time to cast the vote that would prevent the GI Bill from dying in committee.
