First Responders and Military Veterans Memorial

Purpose of Memorial - Tribute to the 1st Responders (police and county sheriff and deputy law enforcement officials; Savannah and Andrew County firefighters; and the Andrew County emergency medical response personnel) along with recognizing the military veterans of Andrew County in all the branches (Marines, Army, Navy, Merchant Marines, Coast Guard, and the Air Force). Seven-foot black marble engraved stone was donated by a well-known local patriotic veteran, who wishes to remain anonymous. The overall management of the stone will be maintained by the Andrew County Commissioners, since the monument is located on the courthouse grounds. The ten-foot, black marble stone arrived the first week in May 2017. The formal dedication was scheduled for Memorial Day. Memorial dedicated on Memorial Day, 29 May 2017.
