Scarsdale American Legion Post 52

Scarsdale American Legion Post 52

The memorial is a series of 14 black granite bases with bronze plaques describing the conflict including Scarsdale's participation (names). Included is the 1st 911 monument in New York State. The monuments are arranged along a serpentine path placed in a garden with extensive plantings and trees. The garden is maintained by the Village of Scarsdale with financial support from the Scarsdale Legion. The concept and implementation was designed by William Meyer-architect, Nelson Heyer-retired rear admiral and Richard Limbacher- treasurer. The final phase was the creation of a special plaza dedicated to Korean and Vietnam veterans and a flag honoring MIA/KIA in 11/11/2015.
