Edmund John Smith

Ed Smith was born in Ambler, Pa., on Sept. 13, 1922. He joined the U.S. Army on Sept. 26, 1945, and was a military policeman. He was qualified as a M-1 rifle marksman and received the Army of Occupation Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. His date of separation was March 19, 1947, and his highest grade held was PFC. When he returned to Ambler he married Marjorie P. Sellers, and they were married for 50 years until she passed away in 1997. He worked in and around Ambler in the construction industry. When he was in Ambler he was very active in PA Post 0125 of The American Legion.
After the death of his beloved "Dolly" he moved to Gainesville, Fla., where he lived until his death on Sunday, March 15, 2015. He was proud of his affiliation with The American Legion and was a member until his death. He is missed terribly by his family.
