Location:

Susquehanna Street near Packer Hill Road, Jim Thorpe, PA 18229. In 1954, the boroughs of Mauch Chunk and East Mauch Chunk merged. In an odd move to attract tourists, they brought in the body of the late Native American Olympic super-athlete Jim Thorpe for burial and changed the name of the new town to “Jim Thorpe, Pa.," though in life Thorpe had no connection with either town. 49 Degrees 51.832’ North 75 Degrees 44’ 27” West Jim Thorpe is a borough located in Carbon County, Pennsylvania.
