Mitchell Paige Monument

Mitchell Paige Monument

This memorial stands in honor of Charleroi native Sgt. Mitchell Paige, USMC, who was awarded the Medal of Honor for his heroic actions during the Battle of Guadalcanal in 1942. It consists of a polished red granite tower in the five-sided pentagram shape, with a concrete base that is also five-sided. All of the graphics were laser-engraved. In 1998, Hasbro released a Sgt. Mitchell Paige GI Joe action figure.
