Fayette County Soldiers Memorial
Monument to those who served and died in the Civil War. Thirty-five foot high Massilon sandstone obelisk. Surrounding it in a circular design are the graves of 70 Union soldiers. Inscribed around the four sides of the base is: TO THOSE WHO DIED IN SERVICE TO OUR COUNTRY MEMORY BREATHES HOPE REST IN PEACE (in Latin) THEY DIED TO SAVE A NATION
