Oilton, Oklahoma - Highland Cemetery Veterans Memorial

A section in the west-central area of the cemetery has been set aside to commemorate veterans. The centerpiece of the memorial is a large tubular white cross, mounted on a painted concrete base. A raised triangular gray granite monument, resting on a gray granite base, and mounted on a concrete pad, is at the foot of the cross. Two green benches sit on either side of the cross, and a metal flagpole and a twin-rail metal fence are positioned to the immediate west. On the monument are an engraved American Legion Emblem and the inscription: “IN HONOR OF THOSE WHO SERVED” Surrounding the memorial area are the individual markers of veterans.
