Stillwater, Oklahoma - Fairlawn Cemetery Civil War Veterans Memorial

The Civil War Veterans Memorial is a large, raised, horizontally-oriented gray granite monument set on two footings. On the tablet are the alphabetically-listed names of civil war veterans buried in Fairlawn Cemetery. A total of 206 veterans are identified, including 11 recorded as serving for the Confederate States of America (CSA). Also listed are the states from which they entered service, and in a few cases a branch of service or organization is recognized. The memorial was an Eagle Scout project of John Erickson of Boy Scouts of America Troop 818, in Stillwater, and was sponsored by the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War (SUVCW). It was dedicated on July 19, 2008.
