Veterans outreach and claims assistance coming to Arizona

The American Legion Department of Arizona is teaming with American Legion national staff and leadership on March 22 for a veterans outreach and post revitalization effort. Veterans who attend will be able to learn about American Legion programs and advocacy and receive assistance with their Department of Veterans Affairs-related benefits claims.

The effort will take place from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at VFW Post 7061, 516 S. Hopi Avenue, Parker. An accredited American Legion service officer will be available to assist veterans and their families with VA claims at no cost and answer other questions related to benefits.

On Saturday, March 23, in nearby Lake Havasu City, American Legion Auxiliary Unit 81 is sponsoring the 6th Annual Car & Bike Show, which supports the military and their families, at the London Bridge Plaza Parking Lot. The show will take place from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. and is free to spectators and open to the public. There will be entertainment and a beverage garden and food for purchase.

And on Sunday, March 24 in Lake Havasu City, Sons of The American Legion Squadron 81 is sponsoring a Poker/Beer Walk at Post 81, 181 Paseo Del Sol.
