The American Legion’s 52nd Washington Conference is currently under way with live online streaming of marquee events.

The Commander’s Call on Tuesday, Feb. 28, will be streamed live on http://client.stretchinternet.com/client/legion.portal# and will feature speakers such as Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack; Holly Petraeus, head of the Office of Servicemember Affairs at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau; and members of Congress. The Call will run from 8:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. (EST).

On Wednesday, Feb. 29, retired Marine Capt. Dale Dye, an actor and military advisor for feature-film productions, will receive the National Commander’s Public Relations Award during the National Commander’s Public Relations Luncheon (view the list of past recipients). The presentation and Dye’s remarks will be streamed live from 1 p.m.-2 p.m. (EST). Video coverage of both events will appear on www.legion.org soon after their completion.

The Washington Conference kicks off the 2012 streaming schedule of Legion events, which will also include the finals of The American Legion National Oratorical Contest in Indianapolis in April; for the first time, the National Executive Committee meetings in Indianapolis in May; several marquee events of Boys Nation in Washington in July; gavel-to-gavel coverage of the 94th American Legion National Convention in Indianapolis in August; and, also for the first time, the National Executive Committee meetings in Indianapolis in October.
