Honors at Arlington

On May 21, a Missing in America Project team and the Old Guard Riders will embark on a cross-country motorcycle trip to escort the remains of three heroes to Arlington National Cemetery. Buffalo Soldier and Medal of Honor recipient Isaiah Mays, above, died in 1925 and was buried in a pauper’s grave. MIAP requested to disinter Mays for burial at Arlington. Two Silver Star recipients – World War II Navy veteran Johnnie Franklin Callahan and Vietnam War Army veteran James William Dunn – will also be interred.American Legion posts can help by hosting meals along the route.
