The monument was originally built in 1950 at a now-closed school. It was moved across the street and refurbished. The new granite monument features bronze plaques for World War I, World War II, Korea, Vietnam, and the Persian Gulf. The monument memorializes the names of West Elizabeth, Pennsylvania residents who served in those wars.
