Colonel Alexander Leroy Hawkins Memorial
Plaza memorial with larger-than-life size bronze statue of Colonel Hawkins. He was the commander of the Tenth Pennsylvania Infantry Regiment during the Spanish-American War, whose ranks came from SW Pennsylvania. The regiment fought in the Philippines. He died on July 19, 1899 en route home from complications due to an illness.
