The granite monument has a center column flanked by two smaller columns. The center column rests on a double base and the flanking columns rest on a single base; all surrounded by a walk made of stone pavers. On the front of the center column is a poem titled “Old Glory”. The left column has carved insignia representing the Marines, Navy, Army, Air Force and Coast Guard. Carved into the right column is a representation of the flag being raised over Iwo Jima in World War Two. The names of men from Yadkin County who have died at wars are inscribed on the back of the three columns. Standing directly behind the monument is a flag pole.
