Cornelius Veterans Monument at Rotary Plaza
This monument honors all Cornelius, North Carolina veterans, living or dead, who have or had actively served in the Armed Forces of the United States of America. The monument is comprised of six columns, one honoring each branch of the U.S. Armed Services, including the Merchant Marines during World War II. There is a stage containing a life size bronze statue of Korean War Congressional Medal of Honor recipient, Corp. Jerry Crump, who represents the 1100+ Cornelius veterans whose names are on the walls of black polished granite.
