Schuyler County Veterans Memorial Park

Schuyler County Veterans Memorial Park
The park occupies 2.5 acres of land having a tranquil wooded background. It has two large bronze eagle monuments surrounded by 20 granite benches and over 860 granite bricks with engraved names of veterans dating back to the Revolutionary War. Behind the monuments are a row of flags, including the American flag, POW/MIA, and one for each branch of the armed forces. A visitors center has a glass-encased list of Schuyler County veterans and specially recognized local contributors is located at the entrance to direct visitors to the center monument. There is a picnic area furnished with a pavilion, a covered barbecue grill and ample parking. In addition to veteran events, the park has been utilized for memorial services, family outings, weddings, and as a convenient rest stop for Catharine Trail hikers. Not only is the Schuyler County Veterans Memorial Park a place to honor and remember veterans of all wars, it also provides an excellent environment in which to reflect, relax, and enjoy!
