A granite monument erected to honor the memory of those Vicksburg and Warren County soldiers killed in World War I. The granite pier is flanked on the west with a nearly life size granite infantryman and on the east by a sailor. At the foot of the memorial a small Rotary Club plaque. The Vicksburg World War I Memorial occupies a place of pride on the Monroe Street Esplanade at the head of the Memorial Rose Garden. The memorial and the garden are both contributing structures to the US National Register Uptown Vicksburg Historic District in downtown Vicksburg.
