This memorial is the culmination of a dream of three WWII combat cousins who entered service from Freeborn County, MN--Emil Prantner, Milo Belshan, and Ernest Benesh. They wished for a respectful way to honor the vets already interred at the Cemetery, and those who will be buried there in the future. They asked for help from the Glenville Area Women of Today, who raised funds in the local community, and received a patriotic grant from the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution. The memorial is black granite, engraved with "Honoring All Who Served", Honor Duty Country, and veterans' names and service information, flanked by 2 life-sized soldier statues, and seven flagpoles with 6 service flags, and an American and MIA/POW flag. It is surrounded by a concrete walkway and concrete benches are placed in front for viewing and ceremonies.
