The memorial and flag pole were paid for by Fort Frederick Area Ruritan and placed in front of the district 15 building at 11411 Tederick Drive, Big Pool, Maryland 21711. The grey granite stone has 5 emblems and is inscribed "IN MEMORIAL TO THOSE WHO WENT AND NEVER RETURNED, TO HONOR THOSE WHO SERVED AND KEPT US SAFE, OUR SERVICE MEN AND WOMEN OF THE BIG POOL DISTRICT 15 AREA".
