Online exhibit showcases Legion convention badges

For the first time, the Emil A. Blackmore Museum is displaying its collection of American Legion national convention badges in a new online exhibit.

The commemorative badges, produced every year since 1919, incorporate intricate etchings unique to the history of the convention locations while reflecting The American Legion’s values during national and global events. The exhibit showcases the badges’ evolution over a 100-year timespan, and features convention officials, delegates and distinguished guests wearing them. In addition to the badges, the exhibit includes images of the national convention program covers. Like the badges, these colorful covers pay homage to The American Legion’s dedication to supporting soldiers and veterans, honoring fallen soldiers, educating the youth and loyally serving the nation.
