Yearly speech by national commander kicks off Capitol Hill portion of Washington Conference.
Each year during The American Legion's Washington Conference, Legion Family members hear an informational - and motivational - speech by the national commander, laying out the Legion's goals, before descending on their representatives and senators on Capitol Hill.
National Commander Dale Barnett will deliver the 2016 Commander's Call on Tuesday, Feb. 23, at 8 a.m. at the Washington Hilton. The speech will be streamed live at http://portal.stretchinternet.com/legion/.
The 56th Washington Conference will also feature Barnett's testimony before the House and Senate Veterans' Affairs committees on Feb. 24.
