Quilts of Valor day set for Spring Meetings

From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Legion family members can help construct quilts for wounded warriors.

A Quilts of Valor Day of Service is planned for May 4 at the Sheraton City Centre Hotel in Indianapolis in conjunction with the Legion's annual Spring Meetings.

Quilts of Valor (QOV) is a nationally recognized program whose mission is "to cover" all those servicemembers touched by war with healing and comforting quilts called Quilts of Valor. These quilts are tangible reminders of appreciation and gratitude. QOV is a national grassroots community service effort, connecting the home front with wounded combat warriors and veterans. Quilts of Valor are stitched with love, prayers, and healing thoughts.

Those who don’t sew can press, or cut, or just be present to get a glimpse of the program in action.

The day of service will take place from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. in the Sheraton’s Circle Suites, Lower Lobby. For more information, contact Ann Rehbein at amrehbein@msn.com.
