Thirty youth participants will compete in the Legion’s 23rd annual Junior 3-Position Air Rifle National Championship in Colorado Springs, Colo.
On Friday, 30 high school students from air rifle clubs across the nation will compete in their respective categories during the 23rd annual American Legion Junior 3-Position Air Rifle National Championship. The shoulder-to-shoulder match will be held at the USA Shooting Range Facilities at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo.
The 15 competitors in both the precision and sporter categories will fire two rounds of 20 shots in each of the three positions: standing, kneeling and prone. The top eight shooters in each category will advance to the championship finals on Aug. 10.
One competitor will win the championship title in his or her respective category along with a $2,500 college scholarship donated by the Sons of The American Legion.
