National World War II Museum site allows visitors to provide written, photographic or video thank-you messages to America's veterans.

The National World War II Museum in New Orleans has created a website that will allow visitors to provide a thank-you in a variety of ways to the men and women who have worn a military uniform in service to their country. The goal of the initiative is to have 1 million visits to the site by Veterans Day.

Site visitors can send their thanks three ways:

• Provide a written message, explaining what Veterans Day means to that person, honoring a specific veterans or providing a general thank you.• Upload a photo showing gratitude to the men and women who have served, or to a special veteran. "Thank you for my freedom" signs are also available to download and personalize. • Use a video message to explain why Veterans Day is important, what freedom means, to honor a personal connection or to just say thank you.

Visitors also are encouraged to spread the word about the site through Facebook, Twitter and other social media.
