March Impact: American Legion at work changing lives

Suicide-prevention training, more than 300 hand-painted rocks and long-awaited news on DoD-VA electronic record system among the month’s developments.

New health-care facilities will deploy a long-awaited DoD-VA health records management system, a top priority of The American Legion for many years, it was announced in March. Meanwhile, it was a month of honor for women who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces, especially the “Hello Girls” of World War I who were recognized at the Military Women’s Memorial March 19.

The Legion helped communities, states and the nation through services, programs and advocacy in March, including congressional testimony on the need for a stronger Transition Assistance Program.
