The American Legion joins more than 25 other VSOs to press Congress to support the legislation that would provide a 'safe haven' for our allies.

The American Legion was among more than 25 veteran service organizations that sent a letter July 18 urging Congress to pass the Afghan Adjustment Act, S. 2327 and H.R. 4627.

The legislation would support Afghanistan allies who assisted the United States mission during 20 years of war, including providing special immigrant status for at-risk Afghan allies and relatives of certain members of the Armed Forces.

“The Afghan Adjustment Act would provide our Afghan allies with a safe haven in the United States, where they can rebuild their lives and continue to contribute to our country," the letter read.
