On June 14, the U.S. Army will turn 250 years old. Its birth during the beginning of the Revolutionary War is one stop along the road to America’s 250th birthday on July 4, 2026.

Fires Center of Excellence Army 250th Birthday Celebration

What: The Fires Center of Excellence and Fort Sill celebrate the Army's 250th birthday by conducting various efforts intended to promote the Army profession, highlighting the lauded history of field artillery and air defense artillery, fostering positive human relationships and individual awareness, and ultimately celebrating our soldiers, DA civilians, retirees, veterans and their family members.

Aberdeen Proving Ground Army 250th Birthday Celebration and Concert in the Park

This themed concert will feature a patriotic selection of songs to honor the occasion of the Army's 250th birthday. What: Victory Week is a weeklong celebration of Army and Fort Jackson heritage and pride. Events include a post run, athletic competitions, museum visits, organizational day, Fort Jackson Hall of Fame induction and a mass reenlistment ceremony. This year, events will be themed around Fort Jackson's birthday and the Army's 250th birthday. The week culminates with the ATCFJ Army Birthday Ball on Saturday, June 14.

Maneuver Center of Excellence & Fort Benning 250th Army Birthday Week Celebration

What: Fort Benning and the Maneuver Center of Excellence celebrate the Army's 250th birthday with a weeklong commemoration. According to post historian Charles Fitt, “Currently, plans are to follow the traditional flag retirement ceremony with what I am calling an Army Muster. An assembly of current and former Army soldiers. I hope to read congratulatory messages from prominent federal, state and local officials or their representatives. I plan to have a scroll for Army veterans to sign in with their names, period of service and any personal message they want to add. This ‘register’ to be placed in a time capsule to be located outside the post. A free lunch will be provided.
