National Commander’s Note: September is recognized as Suicide Prevention Month, although The American Legion is committed to bringing awareness to prevent these tragedies whenever they occur. More than 20 veterans a day commit suicide and stopping these needless deaths should be a priority for all of us. I applaud the efforts of the president’s Roadmap to Empower Veterans and End a National Tragedy of Suicide (PREVENTS). If you, or someone you know is having thoughts of suicide, please call the Veterans Crisis Line at 1-800-273-8255 and press 1, or text 838255. You can also chat online at www.veteranscrisisline.net/get-help/chat.

Thursdays at 7 pm CST, K5TAL hosts an all-digital net via a service called Quadnet Array (www.openquad.net). This service allows any form of digital voice to be routed so DMR users can hear D-Star and C4FM Fusion, D-Star can hear everyone, as can C4FM users. It also allows DV Dongle users to communicate likewise. The net is listed on thewww.openquad.net website. You can listen to the HF 80 meter by going to www.n4dkd.com and enter the frequency and LSB. If you have an Apple device, there is a box to the right to enable audio for IOS.

For God and Country
