Announcements were read that included:
1) Updates from National Commander Oxford for the dates 2 August, 31 July, 30 July and 28 July, 2020.
2) Fifth anniversary of the second- Saturday EchoLink Conference Net on *FMCA-ARC* node.
Discussion was had by several on the net. The topic of choice was: “Is your post back in business and, of so, how is it operating under restrictions related to COVID-19?” Bob KC6UIS noted that his post is meeting using the online app Zoom and that it seems to be working very well. Edgar N3TFS said that his post is open for business, and entry requires taking of temperatures at the door, use of masks and social distancing. Edgar noted that business is good, but there are a number of members who, apparently, aren’t yet ready to venture out into public.
**** Other items discussed were related to a question from Bob KC6UIS regarding problems associated with difficulty in getting into EchoLink after switching internet service providers. Mike W9MNA suggested that Bob might Google the matter to see if others had experienced similar problems and what was done to correct the issue. **** Edgar N3TFS reported that Post 275’s July 4 special event that commemorated the building of the WWI “Peace Cross” in Bladensburg, Md., was a success with 75 check-ins logged for the day.
The TALARC/K9TAL EchoLink Net for August closed at 1255 ET [1655Z].
