Discussion on the net included: reports by Chris, W4CEC, that TALARC members at his post club [WF4TAL] are developing a course for the Boy Scouts of America Radio Merit Badge, and that the post club will participate in Scouting’s Jamboree-on-the-Air event scheduled for October 19-21, 2018, where local Scouts will be invited to visit the post for hands-on amateur radio activities. **** Mike, W9MNA, brought attention to National Commander Reistad’s appeal to Legionnaires to contact the United States Postal Service and urge them to forego an increase in postal rates that, if invoked, would raise postage costs by 200 percent. Those on the net were directed to the Legion website, where a sample letter can be downloaded, worded as the Legionnaire wishes and emailed to the USPS.
