No formal announcements were read, but all on the net were encouraged to participate in the November 11 Veterans Day special event and given general information on bands, modes and specific operational frequencies.
Discussion on the net included: Report by Chris W4CEC that TALARC members at his post club [WF4TAL] had an exceptional turnout for their operations in support of the Boy Scouts’ JOTA [Jamboree on the Air] program. 22 Scouts and 8 adult leaders participated. The boys’ visit to the post included camping in a local area near the post. Chris noted that the post club will conduct Tech Class exams on January 19 and 26, 2019. Congratulations to Chris on recently obtaining his VE [Volunteer Examiner] credentials. **** John K8DHH provided all with some history by noting that the 44th anniversary of the sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald was being observed in his area; and that November 10 marked the 243rd “birthday” of the U.S. Marine Corps. **** New to the EL net is Steve W0MGD, a TALARC member with interest in serving as Net Control for our club’s EchoLink nets.
The TALARC EchoLink Net for November closed at 1250 ET [1750Z].
