Announcements:
On May 2, we will begin the dual net operation on both 3.825 MHz and 7.230 +- 5 KHz. We will also allow check-ins on D-STAR; just quick key on REF 058 B anytime 7 pm and 7:30 pm CDT and I will acknowledge you during the close of the net. If you are skilled enough, set your text to read your call sign/K5TAL ie (KA5DON/K5TAL).
Hamvention was discussed; all who are able to attend, please stop by and say hi to the HQ staff who will be there. If you could volunteer some time at the booth, let HQ know by email to K9TAL@legion.org.
All TALARC nets were discussed with instructions to find them on Legion.org/hamradio. K5TAL will be on the air for ARRL Field Day on June 23 to provide operating experience to our new members and anyone else who would like some operating time.
We will also be having a special event on Memorial Day, May 28 from 12-4 CDT.
This week, we say safe travels to Larry, KE8GKY, who is traveling back to Three Rivers, Mich., and Post 170 for the summer. Once he gets his radio set up again, he will try to check in from there. I encourage him, and all who would like to listen to our net, to check out the online SDR radios listed on WEBSDR.com and pick out a station to listen to and enter the 3.825 or 7..238 frequency. GOD speed Larry.
