The American Legion will host an in-person and virtual Media Training Workshop, along with an awards luncheon, at the 104th National Convention in Charlotte, N.C., on Monday, Aug. 28.
The workshop and awards luncheon are open to all convention attendees.
Media Training Workshop
The Media Training Workshop will be held at the Charlotte Convention Center, Room 212, Sections A-B, Meeting Level, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Eastern time with a two-hour break for the awards luncheon. Topics include how to: create QR codes for membership and donations; improve photography skills; design a newsletter and increase open rates; use and share the VA’s PTSD Coach app; create Be the One bracelets to promote the Legion’s suicide prevention initiative; start a podcast; and more.

Awards luncheon
From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., The American Legion will recognize the 2023 American Legion Media Alliance (TALMA) contest winners with a special awards luncheon. This luncheon will be held at the Westin Charlotte, Harris, Second Floor. Food will consist of Carolina BBQ, five cheese baked mac, quinoa salad, coleslaw, sweet potato salad, dessert and more.
The luncheon is free for the 2023 TALMA award recipients. For others and guests, the price is $20.
