A Giving Tuesday campaign raised $14,959 across a three-day period in the first week of May for The American Legion Veterans and Children Foundation. The funds go toward American Legion service officers who provide free assistance to veterans seeking help with obtaining their earned military benefits. They also are used for grants to help military families with minor children at home who are struggling financially. Learn more about the foundation at www.legion.org/donate/endowment_fund.
The National American Legion College Alumni Association (NALCAA) continued efforts past Giving Tuesday to support the Veterans and Children Foundation. A fundraising challenge between the NALCAA classes has raised $5,295 from 78 alumni. The Class of 2019 raised the most in donations of $1,650. They will be honored with a banner on the NALCAA Facebook page and be first in the buffet line for the next alumni banquet.
