Memorial Day speech, National Poppy Day and more.

Memorial Day speech
Over Memorial Day weekend, American Legion Family members nationwide will be honoring the more than 1 million men and women who have lost their lives defending America in wars from the Revolution to the global war on terrorism. If your post or department is hosting a ceremony, a Memorial Day speech is available for download at  www.legion.org/publications under Media & Communications.

National Poppy Day
Friday, May 24, is National Poppy Day, when a red poppy is worn to honor the fallen and show support for all veterans.    www.legion.org/poppyday

Flag Day speech
June 14 is Flag Day and The American Legion has a speech available for Legionnaires to use. Download the Flag Day speech at  www.legion.org/publications  under Media & Communications. For additional flag information,  such as publications, FAQs and resources, visit  www.legion.org/flag.

Scholarship reminder
If your post or Auxiliary unit is sending youth to American Legion Boys State or Auxiliary Girls State, please remind the students about the Samsung American Legion Scholarship. The scholarship awards up to $10,000 for undergraduate studies. For eligibility  information and how to apply, visit  www.legion.org/scholarships/samsung.
