Support from Justamere Foundation, Google will enable certifications in critical field.
Task Force Movement (TFM) has announced that JROTC cadets at Central Catholic High School in San Antonio – Cyber Patriots – and their Army instructors have been awarded scholarships to advance their cybersecurity skills. Thanks to the generous support of the Justamere Foundation and Google, 25 scholarships will enable the cadets to earn a Google certification in cybersecurity, enhancing their career prospects in this critical field.
The TFM initiative unites leaders from the private sector, labor unions, veteran organizations, academia, vocational training institutions and government entities to develop and implement solutions that promote responsible career pathways for transitioning servicemembers, veterans and military spouses entering the civilian workforce. The American Legion holds a seat on the steering committee and frequently hosts initiative meetings.
TFM Chairman Hon. Patrick J. Murphy expressed to the cadets: “Congratulations on this outstanding achievement in cybersecurity. This recognition highlights your hard work, dedication and the unwavering support from your families. Cybercrime represents the most significant transfer of wealth in our nation’s history, and we need your expertise to be part of the solution alongside law enforcement, the private sector and our military guardians.”
A special thank-you to the dedicated educators shaping these future cybersecurity professionals and the leadership of the Cyber Patriots team.
