The American Legion is participating in an event aimed at connecting veteran entrepreneurs with local business experts in New Mexico.
The SBA (Small Business Administration) Military Community Entrepreneurship Summit will take place from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. MT Dec. 3 at the New Mexico Farm & Ranch Heritage Museum, 4100 Dripping Springs Road, Las Cruces, N.M. Veterans, servicemembers and military spouses can register for free at this link.
Attendees will learn about accessing capital for their business; preparing their business for disasters; becoming procurement ready at the federal, state and city levels; finding business opportunities and USDA resources; and obtaining technical assistance for business through SBA resource partners.
Representatives from various local and national organizations are scheduled to be on hand, including The American Legion; the SBA’s New Mexico and El Paso district offices, as well as the SBA offices of Veterans Business Development, Capital Access, Government Contracting and Business Development, Disaster Recovery and Resilience, and Native American Affairs; the U.S. Department of Agriculture; and more.
