North Dakota’s best finish in the American Legion World Series came with a lot of rain — maybe too much.
In the 2019 ALWS, Fargo Post 2 had to finish a rain-delayed game to earn a spot in the semifinals. After a semifinal win, Fargo took a 2-1 lead on Idaho Falls (Idaho) Post 56 in the championship game before that, too, was suspended.
Idaho rallied the following morning to win their state’s first ALWS title.
