American Legion Baseball alumni also up for NL Rookie, NL Cy Young, and NL and AL Manager of the Year awards.
American Legion Baseball alum Alex Gordon finished his final Major League Baseball season with his eighth Gold Glove Award.
Gordon, the Kansas City left fielder who announced his retirement after 14 seasons in September, won his fourth consecutive Gold Glove on Nov. 3. He also won four straight Gold Glove Awards from 2011-14.

Another ALB alum, Texas right fielder Joey Gallo, won his first Gold Glove Tuesday night. Gallo (Bishop Gorman H.S./Nevada) settled in at right field this season after opening the 2017 season at third base, 2018 at first base and 2019 in left field.
Four more American Legion Baseball alumni are up for awards which will be announced next week.
New York Mets RHP Jacob deGrom (Post 6/Deland, Fla.) will find out Nov. 11 if he wins his third straight National League Cy Young Award. DeGrom was 4-2 with a 2.38 ERA and an NL-leading 104 strikeouts this season. He's a finalist along with the Reds’ Trevor Bauer and the Cubs’ Yu Darvish.
Philadelphia third baseman Alec Bohm (Post 1 Swain Construction/Omaha, Neb.) is one of three finalists for the NL Rookie of the Year Award, which will be announced Nov. 9. Bohm hit .338 with a .481 slugging percentage and .881 OPS this season, leading all NL rookies with 54 hits, 23 RBI and 18 multi-hit games. He’s vying for the award with Padres SS Jake Cronenworth and Brewers RHP Devin Williams.
The Manager of the Year Awards will be announced Nov. 10, and there’s an ALB alum finalist in both leagues. Tampa Bay’s Kevin Cash (Post 111/Tampa, Fla.) is a finalist after guiding the Rays to the best record in the AL and an appearance in the World Series. The other AL finalists are Charlie Montoyo of the Blue Jays and Rick Renteria of the White Sox.
In the NL, Miami’s Don Mattingly (Post 8/Evansville, Ind.) is a finalist along with the Cubs’ David Ross and the Padres’ Jayce Tingler. In 2015, Mattingly — then the manager of the Dodgers — talked about his ALB experience.
