Legion Baseball fans are in for an exciting 2015 American Legion World Series (ALWS) as several of the eight teams en route to Shelby, N.C., include past champions, runners-up and squads with multiple Series appearances. See the ALWS game schedule here.
The eight American Legion Baseball teams won their divisions' regional tournaments and are now competing for the 2015 Legion World Series championship title are:
Mid-Atlantic Region – Brooklawn, N.J., Post 72
Southeast Region – Chapin-Newberry, S.C., Post 193
Mid-South Region – New Orleans Retif Oil Post 125
Great Lakes Region – Midland, Mich., Berryhill Post 165
Central Plains Region – Millard, Neb., Fifty-Two's Patriots Post 374
Northwest Region – Medford, Ore., Post 15
Western Region – Waipahu, Hawaii, Post 35
Northeast Region: Cromwell, Conn., Post 105
Brooklawn Post 72 is making its fifth consecutive ALWS appearance after claiming back-to-back championship titles in 2013 and 2014; Waipahu Post 35 is making its fourth ALWS appearance in five years; 2014 runner-up and 2009 champion Midland Post 165 is back; and New Orleans Post 125 is making its first appearance since winning the Series in 2012.

A breakfast for players and their parents on Aug. 12 with special guest Rob O'Neill, a former Navy SEAL.

A performance by country music duo Thompson Square at the Celebration of Champions on Aug. 12 at at 5 p.m. Keeter Stadium. The Parade of Champions will take place before the concert to honor all eight regional champions (players and coaches) before the 89th World Series begins the next day.
