About 250 volunteers unfurled a 160 x 300-foot U.S. Flag on Aug. 6, 2009, at David Allen Ballpark in Enid, Okla. The Stars and Stripes, one of three “Super Flags” in existence, played the lead role in opening ceremonies for one of American Legion Baseball’s regional tournaments; eight were played across the country and the winners competed Aug. 14-18 in The American Legion World Series held in Fargo, N.D. Next year’s Legion world series will be Aug. 13-17 at Avista Stadium in Spokane, Wash.
