American Legion posts honor the services and sacrifices of Vietnam veterans March 29 through ceremonies, dinners and more.
On Friday, March 29, the services and sacrifices of Vietnam veterans will be recognized nationwide. National Vietnam War Veterans Day is a time to honor the 9 million Americans who served during the Vietnam War era, the 58,000 names memorialized on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., and the thousands still unaccounted for. It’s also a time to say “Welcome home” to those who never received the recognition they deserved upon their return home from Vietnam.
American Legion posts host ceremonies, dinners and more for Vietnam veterans on March 29. If your post is hosting a National Vietnam War Veterans Day event, please share with American Legion National Headquarters by emailing dispatch@legion.org. You also can submit photos and a story following your event at legiontown.org under the Honor & Achievements category.
