The American Legion Department of New Jersey will conduct a stand down for homeless and at-risk veterans Oct. 18 in Bridgeton, N.J.
The South Jersey Regional Stand Down will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 18 at Riverfront Plaza, 2 E. Commerce St., Bridgeton, N.J.
Services available to veterans at the stand down include VA medical, mental health, benefits, claims, housing and employment. Lunch will be provided, and men’s and women’s clothing and hygiene products will be available.
Other agencies supporting the stand down include Elks, New Jersey Casino Control Commission, New Jersey State Parole and Catholic Charities Diocese of Camden.
The department also has two all-inclusive resource fairs scheduled. Veterans attending those events will receive assistance with DD-214’s, benefits, claims, housing, employment, clothing and ongoing support.
The Bergen County Regional Resource Fair will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 4 at American Legion Post 170, 33 W. Passaic St., Rochelle Park, N.J.
The Union County Regional Resource Fair will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 13 at VFW Post 2648, 2012 High St., Union, N.J.
