The American Legion’s scholarships provide financial assistance to high school students with exceptional academic and leadership qualities, including those participating in youth programs or connected to military service.

Samsung American Legion Scholarship
High school juniors and seniors attending Boys State or Girls State, who are direct descendants of wartime veterans, can apply. -
Legacy Scholarship
Children of post-9/11 fallen servicemembers or veterans with a 50% or higher VA disability rating can apply for the Legacy Scholarship to support their higher education. -
Baseball Scholarship
American Legion baseball players can apply for scholarships ranging from $500 to $5,000, awarded annually based on performance and academic achievement. -
Oratorical Contest
Finalists in The American Legion Oratorical Contest can earn scholarships ranging from $20,000 to $25,000, with additional awards for participants advancing through the competition. -
Eagle Scout of the Year
The American Legion Eagle Scout of the Year can earn a $10,000 scholarship, with three runners-up each receiving $2,500, awarded annually based on nominations from state-level committees. -
Junior Shooting Sports Scholarship
Winners of The American Legion Junior Shooting Sports Championship receive $5,000 scholarships in both Precision and Sporter categories, with second place finishers each earning $1,000, and all recipients honored at the National Convention. -
ANAVICUS Scholarships
ANAVICUS offers nine scholarships, each valued at $1,500, in memory of distinguished members, including awards for students at specific colleges, ROTC participants, and descendants of ANAVICUS members. -
