Veterans Small Business Conference planned for convention

The daylong event will feature panelists discussing SBA programs for entrepreneurs, government contracting and other issues.

American Legion Family members, veterans and the public are invited to a Veteran Small Business Conference presented by The American Legion during its 104th National Convention.

The conference will go from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 30, at the Westin Charlotte, Independence, Second Floor, 601 S. College St, Charlotte, N.C. 28202.

The topics presented will be:

U.S. Small Business Administration Programs Overview: The session runs from 9 a.m. to noon. It will be an overview of the Small Business Administration (SBA) programs. SBA will discuss available programs for veterans and spouses seeking to start small businesses.

Forum on Government Contracting and Other Issues of Concern: The session runs from 1 to 4 p.m. Attendees will be given the opportunity to discuss government contracting and other topics of concern with veteran business owners and key government personnel.
