2024 Legion Baseball regionals: Thursday roundup

2 no-hitters and weather delays highlight second day of regional competition.

Two no-hitters and Hurricane Debby were the big stories in Thursday’s American Legion regional play.

In Region 7, Drew McDowell threw the first individual no-hitter since 2019 as Billings Scarlets (Mont.) Post 4 won an elimination game.

In Region 8, Clovis (Calif.) pitchers Reece Van Alen and Art Becerra combined on the first combined no-hitter since last year in an elimination game.

And rainfall from Hurricane Debby altered the schedules for both Region 2 and Region 3 as games were suspended or moved to Friday.
